A true story of chance, consequence, and survival
It Could Happen To You
One life. Countless turns. No guarantees.
Some lives follow a plan. Others are decided by the roll.
It Could Happen To You is the debut memoir of Bruce Dobish, a fast moving, unflinching chronology of a life fully lived. It stretches from the streets of Manhattan through the World Trade Center disasters, high stakes gambling forays, murder, sex, drugs, and rock and roll.
This is not a story of a passive hero.
It is the story of a man who kept moving through everything New York, and life, threw at him, and lived to tell it.
The life behind the book
Five turns of a life that refused a script.
The rest is in the book.

About the author
Bruce Dobish
A life fully lived. A story finally told.
Bruce Dobish was born in 1954 in Manhattan, New York City, a city that would go on to shape, test, and nearly break him. He holds an MA in Economics and, over the decades, lived through more than most novelists could invent: the World Trade Center disasters, the gambling world, and a front row seat to the extremes of American life.
Now retired and living in Boynton Beach, Florida, Bruce is making his publishing debut with It Could Happen To You, a memoir that spans it all: a life of risk, loss, luck, and survival, told without apology.
It's the story he's been living for seventy years. Now he's finally telling it.
